Petra Jewellery Design™ is owned by Petra Bierberg, a professional jewellery designer, jeweller and trained goldsmith. Petra studied jewellery design and manufacturing in Cape Town, South Africa.

Petra gained her practical experience working as a goldsmith in Namibia and later in Cape Town. She then focused her skills on custom jewellery design and sales and also furthered her education by attending professional courses in diamond grading and diamond retailing.

In 2004 Petra was named as the overall winner of the Professional Designer Category in the South African Jewellery Council Collection Awards, an esteemed achievement reflecting her excellence as a professional jewellery designer, jeweller and goldsmith. Winning this award sparked the desire to start her own company and Petra Jewellery DesignTM was established in 2005.

As a professional jewellery designer, Petra is renowned for her careful consideration of clients' expectations in her creations. Her experience as a jeweller and goldsmith has established an understanding of the construction and craftsmanship of each piece of contemporary jewellery created. Petra enjoys interacting with her clients and interpreting their ideas into unique designs and beautiful pieces of jewellery.

She takes great pride in the quality of the craftsmanship and the selection of exquisite diamonds and gemstones.
